My unequivocal decision to support Attorney General Aaron Ford’s re-election is simple: Aaron has displayed a graciousness and Christ-like humility as long as I’ve known him. He is a good person working hard to make a difference in Nevada, has done an excellent job as Attorney General representing the Silver State — and despite our stark difference in opinion regarding abortion, he and I agree on a lot more than we disagree about. It grieves me that the Republican Party of Nevada nominated as racist, dangerous, and unqualified a candidate as Sigal Chattah. We should all be deeply ashamed at our moral failure to speak out and oppose such evil. For these reasons and more, Republicans of good faith and authentically conservative values should join me in supporting Aaron Ford for Attorney General.”

As a life-long Republican and Nevada’s Senate Republican Leader for the better part of the past decade, I have never endorsed a Democrat for public office. That changes today. I proudly endorse Aaron Ford for re-election as Nevada’s Attorney General. Aaron and I served together for several years in the legislature and we engaged in many spirited political battles. Through that shared experience, he earned my friendship and respect. Aaron Ford is an honorable and serious public servant, a devoted family man, and a role model to many. Nevada is fortunate to have Aaron Ford as our Attorney General. I take no joy in saying that my own political party has nominated an unhinged election denier and charlatan to run against Mr. Ford. Now, more than ever, it is time to put duty to the state and country above partisan politics. If we care about the rule of law and the health of our democracy. If we care about Nevada. There really is only one choice for Nevada Attorney General. That person is Aaron Ford.

I'm a proud Nevadan Republican, and I plan to cast votes for many Republican candidates this year. But when it comes to our state's attorney general, I'm voting for Aaron Ford. General Ford has a stellar track record of keeping Nevadans safe and protecting our rights. On the other hand, it is unacceptable that Sigal Chattah — an unprepared, dangerous candidate who lacks the experience, foresight, and temperament to be able to do right by Nevadans — is the Republican nominee for Attorney General. I’m proud to be voting for General Ford this November, and I implore fellow Republicans who value commonsense public servants to do the same.
